Pastor Delbert Hawley
This year (2009) Pastor Delbert will celebrate his 33rd year as pastor here at Rock Branch. He preached his first sermon on Sunday morning, September 5, 1976. The title of his message was “The Spiritual Impact of a Single Church,” and he still believes in that impact. His primary focus through the years has been to make a difference in individual lives through the “Power of the Gospel.” He believes God has been faithful to do just that, give individuals a purpose for living. “What He has done for others He wants to do for you.”
As Pastor, Delbert provides overall guidance to the leadership of the church while focusing on preaching the Word and pastoral care. If he’s not in his study, you’ll most always find him out visiting the hospitals, nursing homes, and shut-ins.
Asst. Pastor Travis Rucker
Brother Travis is a Nitro native who actually grew up here at Rock Branch. He did his undergraduate work at the Univ. of Tennessee, Knoxville and went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis. In all, Travis spent 13 years in TN working in student ministry both part-time (while in school) and full-time (upon graduation). In October of 2008, the Lord saw fit to call he, his wife, Tiana, and their two daughters back to Rock Branch.
As Asst. Pastor, Travis aids Delbert in accomplishing the necessary pastoral ministry of the church and is frequently called upon to preach, but his main focus is our youth and children, and their families.
